Interview and Q&A with directors and cast of Much Ado after the performance on Thursday 9th November.
We're delighted to announce a special event for friends of Rooftop with the directors and cast of Much Ado About Nothing on Thursday 9th November at Ludlow Brewery.
University lecturer and Shakespeare specialist Clare Smout, now a Ludlow resident, will be hosting an informal interview and Q&A after the performance at around 9.30. It will last about 30 minutes and the bar will be open!
Clare got in contact with us saying she was "blown away by the writing and performance skills" of our production The Memory Garden last July. She is has a particular interest in Much Ado About Nothing and is looking forward to seeing our bold interpretation! Come and find out more as she delves into the creative process and decision-making of this production in the context of her wide knowledge of Shakespeare and drama.
If you have booked to see the show on Thursday 9th the event is included in your ticket. Anyone who has booked another performance date and wishes to attend the Q&A is welcome to join after the performance from 9.15.
Clare is a university lecturer who specialises in Shakespeare, Greek Drama and practical theatre workshops. She spent 20 years in professional theatre, progressing from hands-on work backstage to become a director and dramaturg. She then moved sideways into the academic world, adding an MA in Shakespeare and Theatre to her earlier degree in classics. Clare will be leading an afternoon session "Exploring Shakespeare's Much Ado about Nothing" at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on January 20th.
